Sony's Recently Published CES 2015 Teaser Video Revealed More Than We Originally Thought

Sony is one of the companies which already teased new products for CES (Consumer Electronics Show) which will take place next month in Las Vegas. The company has posted a teaser video about 10 days ago and we’ve already covered that, but The Verge just noticed something new in that video, which basically everyone missed the first time around, considering Sony gave us a ton of subtle hints in the video itself.

Around the 23-second mark, you’ll notice a phone reflection in the eye of the beholder, it’s not exactly the best look at Sony’s newest device, but still. Sony also gave out a ton of other hints in the video itself, teasing Android 5.0 Lollipop with the help of an elevator button and an actual lollipop. Quality music and photo output have also been teased in the video, along with the thinness of this device. Sony has announced their current flagship back in September, so it’s only a couple of months old, but it looks more and more probable that this Japanese tech giant will unveil the Xperia Z4 at CES. Not only is this a high-quality teaser, but it just has that flagship aura, in a lack of a better word. “Welcome To The New World” is the caption here, so that also kind of points towards a new flagship handset. I’m sure that many people will be angry with Sony if they actually unveil this thing at CES, considering that many of them just got the Z3, it’s relatively new device. Sony usually sticks to a 6-month cycle, so they basically unveil 2 flagships a year, but the Z3 is only around 3 months old at this point.

We don’t have any concrete info when it comes to this handset’s specs, but Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC was mentioned, as well as a 5.2-inch 1080p or quadHD Triluminious display. Sony might include 3 or 4GB of RAM in this device as well, 4GB might be a bit of an overkill, but it might happen. An improved camera will be included as well, quite probably a IMX189AEG CMOS Sensor the company announced a while back.

Sony will hold their event on January 5 at CES, so stay tuned for that, we’ll make sure to let you know what the company announced. In the meantime, let us know what you think Sony will announce, will it be the Z4? What do you think its spec sheet will look like?
