Sony of Canada just announced that their Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact with LTE capabilities would find its way to Rogers later this month “just in time for the holidays.” With today already December 8, we should expect to see the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact showing up any day on their website in order to make it available for Christmas. The device was announced the first of September and we were wondering just when a major Canadian carrier would start selling the Xperia Z3 Tablet and are glad to see that Rogers had picked it up to add to its lineup.
It Features Sony’s 8″ Full HD TFT LCD Triluminos display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and 283 pixels-per-inch (PPI). It also comes with Sony’s Live Colour LED technology and X-Reality for mobile allowing the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact to provide bright and true-to-life colors. It packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz backed by a full 3GB of RAM. For internal storage we are looking at 16GB, however, it comes with a microSD card slot to add up to an additional 128GB of storage. There is a main 8.1MP main camera with auto-focus and a 2.2MP front-facing camera (FFC) for social selfies and video chatting. A non-removable 4500mAh battery powers the device. The tablet has an extremely clean design with ultra-slim rounded bezels and stainless steel corners give it that great Sony build that we have come to expect. It is the only compact tablet with PS4 Remote Play to use your Xperia Z3 Tablet as a remote screen to connect to and play your PS4 games. If the TV is being used as a TV, and you want to play your PS4 games, connect to your DualShock 4 and PS4 via your home Wi-Fi to play games anywhere in your home on the tablet screen.
The Z3 Tablet Compact is also IP65/Ip68 waterproof and dust-tight, making it waterproof for the ultimate portability. At only 6.4mm thin it is “the world’s slimmest and lightest (270 grams)” compact tablet. The battery features Stamina Mode for long lasting life, and the tablet supports Hi-Res Audio. Rogers is pricing the new Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact for $549.99 on a no-term contract and will offer it in white with both 4G/LTE and Wi-Fi built-in.
