Vivo Sends Out Invitations For Company's December 10th X5 Max Event

Vivo is getting ready to announce their X5 Max handset and we have some new information regarding that device and its announcement. This handset will de-throne Oppo R5 as the thinnest smartphone in the world, according to the information available thus far, Vivo X5 Max will be only 4.75mm thin, which is 0.10mm thinner than Oppo’s R5 offering. I believe that’s too thin and I’ve already mentioned that numerous times. Such thin handsets can’t even sport significant batteries on the inside, but we’ll see what Vivo has up its sleeve. Oppo’s offering sports a 2,000mAh unit inside and considering we’re talking about a device which features a full HD display on the front… that might be an issue. Anyhow, let’s focus on the Vivo X5 Max.

This Chinese smartphone manufacturer has just announced that it will hold an event on December 10th on which the company will announce the X5 Max smartphone, as you can see in the image above this article. This handset will be equipped with a new Hi-Fi 2.0 audio, information which leaked many times thus far. This handset will definitely be audio-centered and I’m quite eager to find out what’s it all about. This will also be a dual-SIM phone, for those of you interested. Now for the weird part of this article, Vivo’s X5 Max event invitations. Vivo sent My Drivers (Chinese portal) an invitation to company’s December 10th event, that’s not the weird part of course, the weird part is the kind of invitation. Vivo actually sent out a Ukulele, yeah, the Hawaiian guitar-like musical instrument. Vivo also sent a box full of guitar picks and 4 spare strings for the Ukulele, you can see all that down below, this is not a joke, although I thought it was at first.

I’ve seen some weird invitations to an event, but this is just… well, a category of its own. Either way, according to TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) listing, this handset will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz will power on this thing and the device will sport 13 and 5-megapixel sensors on the back and front side of the device, respectively. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will ship pre-installed on this device and the device itself will measure 153.9 x 78 x 4.75mm.
