Vivo is rather active lately. The company has announced that it will enter the India market soon and thus significantly expand its business, India is the second biggest smartphone market in the world. The company has recently also announced that they will announce their newest Vivo X5 Max handset on December 10th, we’ve seen a ton of rumors which gave us plenty of details when it comes to this handset. According to everything we’ve seen thus far, X5 Max will become world’s thinnest smartphone by de-throning Oppo’s R5 handset which is currently holding that record / title. Previous rumors have been saying that the device will be 4.75mm thick, which is 0.10mm thinner than the Oppo R5, but this new report from China claims otherwise.
According to the latest leak from China, Vivo X5 Max will measure only 3.96-3.98mm, which is staggering. There are also two images which came with this report, one above and the other below this article. You can see the alleged Vivo X5 Max being measured, though we have no way to confirm this report of course. Even at 4.75mm this device would be way too thin for my taste and I think that’s way too thin for a smartphone in general, but this, this is just… well, crazy. Every time I see such a thin phone its battery comes to mind. Oppo R5 is 4.85mm thick and it sports only a 2,000mAh battery on the inside, which is tiny considering that big 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display, and this handset will for sure sport an even smaller battery than that.
According to TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC), this device will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz will power on this device and it will ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed. 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset and on the front side you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel snapper. X5 Max will measure 153.9 x 78 x 4.75mm. December 10th is the date, let’s see what Vivo has in store for us.
