Samsung is going through a rather unstable phase at the moment. The company’s sales have dropped significantly in the last couple of quarters and this Korean tech giant is re-structuring certain parts of Samsung Mobile in order to get the business back on track. Samsung took the most significant hit in China where their sales dropped over 50%, the company is unable to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and similar companies over there. Samsung needs to find a way to offer a more affordable and yet well-equipped handsets in order to battle such OEMs in China and they hope their Galaxy A series might do just that. That’s not the only thing Samsung is going through though, the company will soon be passed down to their current chairman’s son considering Samsung’s chairman, Lee Kun Hee, suffered a heart attack a while back and he’s unable to keep leading the company.
Mobile connection is extremely important today, internet has become an integral part of our lives and we’re used to being online throughout the day. Mobile connection speeds are getting faster and faster. LTE Cat.6 technology started become the new standard this year, this technology lets device achieve speeds of up to 300Mbps, though not many networks around the world offer such speeds at the moment. Back in November, Qualcomm announced company’s first Cat.10 LTE multimode solution which contains Qualcomm’s Gobi 9.45 modem and a second-gen Qualcomm RF360 Envelope Tracker. It seems like Qualcomm won’t be the only one to offer the Cat.10 LTE chip, latest reports claim that Samsung is also working on such a chip for their Exynos SoCs.
According to the latest report from Korea, Samsung’s upcoming Exynos SoC, which will be released next year, will include a 3-band Cat.10 LTE modem which will allow speeds of up to 450Mbps. Sounds insane? Yeah, as I said, not many networks around the world can handle the Cat.6 speeds, no need to emphasize that even fewer will be able to offer 450Mbps speeds. It remains to be seen if the Cat.10 LTE model makes its way to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 or will it take Samsung more time to release that modem. Either way, I’m rather certain it will be included in the Galaxy Note 5 if not the Galaxy S6.
