ZTE has cut down prices for a bunch of their smartphones in China recently, including Nubia Z5, Nubia X6, etc. Some might say ZTE is getting ready to launch the Nubia Z9 smartphone that has been leaked recently, though that doesn’t have to be the case, of course. You might recall ZTE’s Nubia Z9 handset leaked a while back, the most interesting thing about this handset is the fact it has no bezel on the sides, only on top and bottom of it, which makes it look really weird and what not. According to rumors, this handset is supposed to launch this month, though it’s possible that won’t happen so soon, we’ll see.
We’re not here to talk about the Z9 though, but another ZTE-made handset which just got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC). ZTE Q7 is the device in question, this handset sports a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) TFT display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 32GB). This handset is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, either the Snapdragon 615 or a MediaTek chip, it remains to be seen. This phone will be available in Black and White color options and will ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat. ZTE Q7 measures 157 x 78 x 7.9mm while it weighs 160 grams. This is a 4G LTE device and has support for TD-LTE, LTE-FDD, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, and GSM network bands. ZTE Q7 also supports 2 SIM card, it’s a dual-SIM device. As far as cameras go, on the back of this handset you’ll find an 8-megapixel shooter, while there’s a 3-megapixel snapper on the front (seems like an odd resolution).
This will be a solid mid-range offering by ZTE judging by the looks of it, it remains to be seen what price will it carry. If ZTE manages to price this accordingly it might sell really well in China. Anyhow, this handset will probably launch in the coming weeks considering it just got certified, we might see it launched by the end of the year even, stay tuned.
