Acer is here at CES in Las Vegas and they’ve just announced a few new products. Some new laptops, but also a new Chromebook. Acer has really taken the Chrome OS world by storm. They have the most Chromebooks available right now, more than any other OEM. We’ve reviewed every Chromebook they’ve made, and have loved each of them. So we’re definitely excited for their newest Chromebook, this 15.6-incher. The Acer Chromebook 15 has a 15.6-inch display, also runs on the Intel 5th Gen Core micro-architecture processor. It’ll be running either an Intel Core i3, or an Intel Celeron Processor. Both of which are plenty powerful for Chrome OS. It’s also got a solid state drive (SSD) running the show, to ensure it’s speedy. Acer has included Bluetooth 4.0, the USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port and HDMI port.
As far as availability and pricing go, the Chromebook 15 will be available with 16GB or 32GB SSD’s and in 2GB or 4GB of RAM configurations. Starting at $249.99. Availability will vary by region, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on when the Acer Chromebook 15 is available. We definitely can’t wait to take this one for a spin.
That’s not all the Chromebook news from Acer here at CES. They’ve also announced that their Chromebook 13 lineup has gone touchscreen. So now you can opt in for a touchscreen 13-inch Chromebook from Acer. These will be available later this month for about $329.99, which is definitely not a bad price at all. All the other specs and features will remain the same however, for those wondering. The Chromebook 13 runs on the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, and provides about 13 hours of battery life. Depending on your usage, that could be more or less than what you actually see in real life usage. Nevertheless, it’ll last quite a while, and likely all day, which is pretty insane for a laptop these days.
