Archos is a rather well-known company in Europe. They’re known for making solid budget devices and they seem to do a good job as far as that goes. This is a France-based company which was founded back in 1988, they tend to make smartphone and tablets these days and ship them all over the world. This company has announced their new tablet line which consists of: Archos 70 Helium 4G, 80b Helium 4G and 101 Helium 4G. The names are kind of odd, I know, but hey, this is not the worst we’ve seen, not by a long shot. Anyhow, let’s take a look at these devices.
Archos 70 Helium 4G is a 7-inch tablet, we’re talking about an IPS display which has the resolution of 1024 x 768. This tablet is powered by MediaTek’s MT8732 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz which ships with Mali 760 MP2 GPU for graphics processing. This device ships with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 64GB). Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device and a 2,500mAh battery ships with this device as well. 2-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device and flanked by an LED flash, while there’s a 0.3-megapixel shooter available up front. This tablet comes with Cat.4 LTE support, so you should be covered as far as internet connectivity goes. This is also a dual-SIM device, in case you need the second SIM slot.
Moving on to Archos 80b Helium 4G and 101 Helium 4G. Both of these devices feature the same processor, RAM count, internal storage, 4G support, dual-SIM capability and operating system as the Archos 70 Helium 4G, but there are some differences though. Both these tablets sport IPS displays which are 1280 x 800 in resolution, but are different in size. 80b Helium 4G comes with an 8-inch panel, while the 101 Helium 4G features a 10.1-inch display. The 80b Helium 4G has the same 2 and 0.3-megapixel shooters like the 70 Helium 4G and the 101 Helium 4G ships with a 5 and 2-megapixel shooter on the back and front side, respectively. The 8-inch device ships with a 3,600mAh battery, while the biggest one of them comes with a 6,500mAh unit on the inside.
That’s about it, the design of these devices isn’t all that eye-catching, but it’s not bad either. There are a bunch of images in the gallery down below, in case you’re interested. If you’d like to find out more about these devices, visit the source link down below which will take you to Archos’ website. I’ll take a wild guess here and assume we’ll see these devices showcased at CES in a few days. Anyhow, let us know what you think of these devices.
