Acer has announced and unveiled their Liquid Jade S handset today aimed at what appears to be the mid-range consumer, coming in with a 720p 5-inch screen and carrying 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and running android 4.4 Kit Kat at launch. The camera comes in a little stronger than we would have expected with those previously listed specs, as it’s a 13MP rear facing shooter, with an f/1.8 aperture, and it’s powered by a MediaTek 64-bit octa-core processor. Acer also states that while this device is running Android Kit Kat when they release it, it will be getting the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop at some point this year, hopefully soon after launch. Acer says we’ll see this device launching later on in January for a cost of €299, but no word on a U.S. specific release or pricing yet.
