Razer’s Nabu wristband hasn’t been available very long, but that hasn’t stopped them from showing off what they have had in the works for someone looking to grab a smartband/fitness tracker from the brand without a a screen attached to it. Unlike the Razer Nabu, the Razer Nabu X will sport only a few LED lights on the top of the band to act as indicators, a heart rate sensor on the back for tracking your heart rate, all wrapped up in a rubberized shell that is water resistant to cater to the active user.
While the Nabu X doesn’t provide you with a mini LCD to glance at, the lights together with the band’s vibration feature work to provide wearers with alerts for incoming notifications, and the LED lights are customizable to colors of your choice. So, if you get a call or an email, perhaps a few text messages, the Nabu X will simply vibrate and the LEDs will blink to let you know that you got a notification. The idea for Razer here is still to provide a gaming focused smart band that provides you with some fitness and social aspects, while allowing you to “keep your head in the game.” We get that, because when were knee deep in it tossing frags or casting spells at enemy players, the last thing we want is a distraction from a screen easily view-able to you other than the one you’re playing the game on.
The Razer Nabu X also has the same capabilities for activity tracking as the regular Nabu, allowing you more than just tracking your heart rate with abilities to track calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled, hours slept, active minutes, and track your set goals.(which we assume you set up through the companion app)Through the use of companion apps(of which there are a few)you can make your usage of the Nabu X a social affair by doing things like high fiving to share Facebook or Twitter information. It’s also water resistant up to 1 meter and is said to have a 5-7 day battery life. When it’s available(coming soon according to Razer)it will also only cost you $49.99.
