CES2015: Hands On With The Samsung Galaxy A3

If you are a Samsung fan then 2014 was a good year for you. Typical of Samsung you had a whole bunch of devices to choose from. Not to mention a watch, VR unit and a whole bunch of other stuff. They do washing machines too, you know. Well, one of those devices, which landed was the Samsung Galaxy A3. This was launched in South Korea a few months ago and easily grabbed a bunch of headlines. Partly as this along with its bigger brother, the A5 were Samsung’s first real metal devices. The rest of the specs though were a little average and especially for the A3.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 comes with 4.5″ QHD display with a 960 x 540 (245ppi) resolution. Inside, the A3 offers 1GB of RAM and a quad-core processor. Additional features on offer include 16GB internal storage, microSD card (up to 64GB), an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP Front facing option. The A3 also offers Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE, ANT+), NFC and 3G (or 4G LTE depending on which version you buy). Not to mention, the A3 also comes equipped with a 1,900mAh battery and a whole bunch of sensors. Lastly, the A3 comes running Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box.

Well, that was the specs, but at CES today we managed to get a hands-on with the device and you can see up close how it looks in the images below.
