Many of you out there know that I don’t really like using cases on my smartphones or tablets. Which is true. Especially a phone like the Moto X or the Motorola Droid Turbo. That Ballistic Nylon and leather feel great in the hand. But this is where skins from SlickWraps and other companies come in. They are basically a very thin wrap that goes on your device. It doesn’t do as much to protect it as a case would, especially an Otterbox. But it does look great. Especially now that we have choices between leather, wood, metal and carbon fiber. I usually go for the black carbon fiber as it looks good on every smartphone.
Today, we’ll be talking about the black carbon fiber skin for the Google Nexus 6. Now I had one issue with this skin. And it’s due to the logos on the back of the Nexus 6, and the dimple. Because of the Nexus logo and the Motorola dimple, it was a bit of a struggle to get the skin on there. Which is why the “e” is not really straight. But it does look really nice. It only takes a few minutes to install, and it’s a good idea to use a hairdryer to make sure it stays on. Or else the corners might start to peel off. Which you definitely don’t want. As it’ll begin to look ugly, and if you’re like me, you’ll want to just rip it off.
I’ve had this one on my Nexus 6 for about 2 weeks now, and really like the look and feel of it. It makes the Nexus 6 look a bit different, without adding a ton of bulk to it. There’s really not a whole lot to say about SlickWraps, other than their products are amazing, and they are made right here in the USA. Which is always good to see.
You can get a SlickWrap for your Nexus 6 or a variety of other devices – I bought one for my keyboard and it looks slick. They support a ton of smartphones, tablets, Macbooks, headphones, smartwatches and more!
