HTC Schedules Mobile World Congress Press Conference for March 1st

We’re getting close to that time. Close to when companies are going to be announcing their press conferences for Mobile World Congress. MWC takes place in Barcelona this year from March 2nd to the 5th. It appears that press day is going to be Sunday, March 1st this year for MWC. I’ll be in Barcelona and heading to all of these press conferences to see what they have in store.

This morning, HTC started sending out invites to their Mobile World Congress press conference. It’ll be taking place on March 1st at 4pm CET. For those that’s in the US on the east coast, that’s 10am, and 7am PST. We’re expecting the HTC One here, but that’s not confirmed. The invite says “Utopia in Progress”, and that’s about it. So whether it’s the HTC One or not, we’re expecting a flagship from HTC here. So it’s going to be a big event.

Right now, the rumors and leaks for the HTC Hima are point at a 20.7MP camera (Likely a Sony sensor) which is a huge upgrade over that 4MP UltraPixel Sensor that the previous two HTC One’s had. It’s also going to have a Snapdragon 810, 2GB of RAM and a much larger battery. We’re also slated to see both a regular sized phone, and a slightly larger one. The HTC Hima Ace Plus is going to have a 5.5-inch QHD display, according to the most recent leaks. So it looks like HTC is going all out for these two smartphones. And it’s definitely needed. They started to see a bit of a turnaround last year, and if the leaks of these two devices turn out to be true, they’ll have some really good sellers on their hands here.
