HTC's Android 5.0 Update Road Map Leaks Out

Wondering when your HTC smartphone is going to get updated to Android 5.0? Well HTC’s roadmap for the Lollipop OTA has just leaked out. Showing us when it each smartphone is slated to be updated to Lollipop.

As you can see from the image at the bottom of this post, the HTC One M8 and M7 are slated to get updated in Q1. Which we pretty much knew. Especially since the HTC One M8 is getting it’s update right now (the Developer and Unlocked versions are anyways). Looking at Q2 we have the One E8, Desire EYE, One M8 EYE and the Butterfly 2. Which is basically all of the flagships from 2014 outside of the One M8. Moving on to Q3, we have a lot of updates coming out. Including the HTC One Max, M7 Dual-SIM, Desire 816, Desire 820u, One M8 Mini, One E8 China, and the One M8 EYE China. Finally we have Q3+4. Which likely means that it’ll be either late Q3 or Q4 depending on how development goes. Where we have the One M8 Mini, Desire 610, Desire 820s, Desire 510, and the One Mini.

What’s interesting here is that the HTC One Remix isn’t listed. I’m assuming it’ll be updated alongside the HTC One M8 Mini, since it is essentially the same phone, but without a Verizon logo and boot-up screen. It’s nice to see some of these phones getting updates pretty quickly, but to still see a big number of them for Q3 and Q4 is kinda discerning. Considering Lollipop will be nearly a year old at that point. Hopefully, some how, HTC will pick up speed with their updates and we see some of these ahead of when they think they’ll be available. That would definitely make a ton of people happy, I feel.

How many of you are excited to get Android 5.0 – Lollipop on your new HTC device, or maybe an older HTC device? Let us know in the comments below.
