As MWC approaches and the expected launch of Samsung’s latest flagship nears, we will begin to see a lot of the rumors and speculation become clearer. In fact, today alone, we have started to see a bit of an increase in Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors and leaks. Early this morning we first heard that the Samsung Galaxy S6 might very well come with a glass back. This is believed to be a non-removable glass paneling consisting of two glass lenses held together by a metal frame. As this is a non-removable back, if this particular rumor is true then the Galaxy S6 will end the typical Samsung changeable battery feature.
Following on from this, we all but officially heard confirmation from SamMobile that Samsung will indeed be releasing the Galaxy S6 in two versions. The first will be the standard version (whatever this will mean) and the second version, will be an ‘Edge’ version. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. That said, this won’t be like the Note Edge as the S6 version will actually come with dual edges – one edge running down either side of the device.
Now, new information is coming in. The current info comes from Korea Investment & Securities, who are considered to be reliable predictors of Samsung Galaxy devices. The current predictions suggest the S6 will come with a massive 4GB RAM. To add to this, the same sources also advise, that the Galaxy S6 will actually come with a full (unibody) metal chassis, contradicting the early glass rumor we heard. That said, the current suggestion is that this will be a non-removable back and as such, both seem to suggest battery swapping will not be an option for the S6. In terms of cameras, the sources are suggesting the S6 will come with a 20-megapixel rear camera along with an equally large 5-megapixel front facing camera. In terms of processor, it is largely understood now that the S6 won’t come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (as originally thought), but instead will come with Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 processor inside. In terms of when, the same sources are confirming that the Galaxy S6 will make an appearance in March at MWC as expected. So what do you think? 4GB RAM, Non-removable battery? Metal/Glass back? 20MP front shooter? Are these the specs you were hoping for on the Samsung Galaxy S6? Let us know.
