Leaked Image Claims To Be A Comparison Of The HTC One M9 And The HTC One M8

Leaks for upcoming devices are a common part of the tech industry when it comes to smartphones, tablets and the like, and HTC has had their devices leaked just as much as the rest of them. Now that we’re a few weeks in to 2015, we’re starting to see tons of speculations on what HTC’s next flagship device will be to succeed the HTC One M8 from 2014. Some are referring to it as HIMA which has been speculated is an internal name, others are aptly calling it the HTC One M9. Whatever the device ends up being called when it gets launched, it seems that there are more than enough leaks to go around.

This latest leak suggests that the image is of a comparison of HTC’s latest and upcoming devices, the M8 and the M9. We’ll let you make your own judgement here as we’re not necessarily convinced as to whether or not this is the real deal. There are a couple of things telling about this photo, most notably the placement of the dual front facing stereo speakers and the front facing camera which appear strikingly similar to those on the HTC One M8. One of the only difference we can really see here is that the alleged HTC (M9) seems to have slightly thinner bezels on all sides of the display when compared to the HTC (M8).

Just for clarification purposes as well, the image is claiming that this is a prototype of the HTC M9 and not actually a finished product. So if it is in fact a prototype, the real commercial launch of the phone may end up looking a little differently which is something to keep in mind. It appears to us like someone took a picture of an HTC One M8 demo phone placed next to what they’re claiming is the M9, and then stitched them together to show the difference in comparison with one laying over the top of the other to compare the differences in bezel and the speaker grill as well as the camera and sensor up top. If you look at the sensor it does seem to be a little wider than on the HTC M8, and the speakers do look a tad bit different but not by much. What do you make of this leak? Legitimate? Hoax?
