Meizu’s press conference in Beijing is still on the way, and the company has announced the much-rumored Blue Charm handset. This is at least its name in China, so I guess we can call it the Meizu M1 internationally, something similar happened at the M1 Note launch last year. Anyhow, this handset features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 768) display and will be available in White, Pink, Blue, Green and Yellow color options, just like the Meizu M1 Note. We still don’t know what’s the RAM count in this thing, Meizu didn’t mention that during the press event. I’d say it has only 1GB of RAM in there though, considering they didn’t mention anything and the pricing of this device definitely point to that RAM count (EDIT: 1GB of RAM confirmed). This handset will ship with 8GB of expandable internal storage. 2,610mAh battery will ship with this thing and the device weighs 128 grams, while it is 8.9mm thick. 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture) is located on the back of this thing (LED flash included), while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter available up front.
This is the first Meizu-made handset which comes with SD card support, you can expand the 8GB of in-built storage, which is basically nothing these days, with an SD card up to 128GB. Meizu M1 is powered by MediaTek’s MT6732 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz. 4G LTE connectivity is also a part of this package, as well as Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with Glonass and of course Wi-Fi. This is also a dual-SIM, dual standby handset, in case you were wondering. Meizu has also announced the pricing for this thing, the device will cost you 699 Yuan ($110. This handset looks basically the same as the M1 Note, but it has a smaller footprint, and quite obviously a smaller display. Previous rumors / reports were spot on as far as this handset’s specs and pricing goes.
There you have it, the Meizu M1 will be available for pre-order starting February 5 in China, and as I already said, it will cost 699 Yuan ($110). That being said, what are your thoughts here, do you like this handset?
EDIT: 1GB of RAM confirmed.
