With the Super Bowl coming up at a rapid pace, everyone will likely be looking for the best place to watch the game whether it be at home, at a local pub or sports bar and restaurant that can serve you up heaping helpings of beer and food all while you cheer on your favorite team. NBC Sports must realize how mobile of a society we are though, and is going to be giving mobile device users a way to watch the game no matter where they are, even on the go.
This morning NBC announced that they’ll be allowing mobile device users the ability to stream Super Bowl XLIX live right on their tablet, in an event they’re calling Super Stream Sunday. Fitting right? We thought so too, if not a little cliche, but it works so we won’t judge. The live stream includes the game, the half-time show, and the pre-game and post-game shows that happen so you don’t have to miss a beat. You’ll get to see it all right from the palm of your hands, and all for free. Yep, no having to go down to Buffalo Wild Wings and pay for a seat to get in and watch the game, (although that is admittedly a fun time) all you need is a data connection.
You also don’t need to have a subscription to cable services, so there’s no worrying for NFL fans who don’t want to miss the game. The special event NBC says kicks off at Noon EST, which makes it 9 a.m. PST here for the folks on the west coast, that means you’ll need to be up bright and early if you want to start the day off with the pre-game show. Following the game and post-game show which should end somewhere around 10 p.m. EST and 7 p.m. PST, will be the midseason debut of the Blacklist. The only downside here is that there will be no ability to stream the game to your smartphone. Don’t fret though, because if you don’t own a tablet you’ll still be able to stream the game to desktop or laptop. Will you be streaming the game this year?
