New Report Suggests Samsung Galaxy S6 Might Be Released Earlier Than Expected

Over the last few weeks (and months to be honest), the rumors and speculation behind Samsung’s latest flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S6 has intensified. In fact, in the last week or so we are seeing significantly increased activity in the rumor and speculation front. That is somewhat to be expected though. There were minor rumblings before CES that Samsung might debut the Galaxy S6 at that event although that did not really amount to anything. However, now that CES has come and gone, attention has all shifted toward MWC which will take place in March. As it is largely expected that the Galaxy S6 will indeed be launched at MWC, it is not surprising that we are now seeing the speculation grow as we are.

Well, the very latest on this ever increasing speculation is coming from a report that was just published in the South Korean publication, ET News (source link below). The Report largely focuses on the growth expected in 2015 for the Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEM) Division. However, during the report it alludes to two very interesting S6 points. The first is that the report highly seems to confirm that the S6 will come with a whopping 20MP rear camera along with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). This was rumored to be the case a couple of days ago and now this looks to be semi-confirmed..

The second and probably more interesting reference is that the ET News report suggests that the S6 will be released a few weeks earlier than Samsung had originally expected. It is not exactly clear what this is referencing to as we have no firm dates on when the device is expected to be ‘released’. That said, the assumption is that the S6 might be released much sooner than it was being planned and it could reach the market much earlier. It is also worth pointing out that the report specifically says that the “Galaxy S6 was released 2-3 weeks earlier than originally planned“. The past tense of the ‘was’ is probably just a translation error, as the report does repeatedly suggest the Galaxy S6 is coming earlier than expected “thanks to the early release of the Galaxy S6.” Either way, though as March and MWS approaches we will no doubt hear more on this subject and the upcoming release date for the Samsung Galaxy S6.
