As mobile technology advances, bezels are getting smaller and smaller. Sharp’s Aquos Crystal surprised many people when it launched last year, the phone had a rather sizeable chin below, which housed the front facing camera, speaker grill, microphone and some sensors, but other than that, this phone was really good looking. The bezels on the sides and on the top were as thin as it gets for a bezel. It looks like ZTE is looking to push this bezel-less trend even further with company’s Nubia Z9 handset which is due to arrive this year. We’ve already seen some reports and leaks regarding this device, two renders surfaced actually.
The first render showed off a rather good looking device in my humble opinion and I’m still hoping this will be the final design of the Nubia Z9. The second render we stumbled upon actually popped up the other day, and it looks rather odd. Anyhow, we have something new to show to you when it comes to this handset. If you take a look above and below this article, you’ll notice two images which allegedly show off Nubia Z9’s display. This display seems to be curved on the sides and resembles both leaks we’ve seen thus far. The characteristic ZTE button placement below the display is present here and the leak seems legit enough, this display is allegedly manufactured by Sharp.
This phone is expected to launch sometime this year, at least according to leaks, we didn’t get any info directly from ZTE. That being said, does this seem interesting to you? Which of the two leaked designs do you like more, if any? I personally am rather interested to see what ZTE has to offer and would gladly try out a device like this, though I’m still not convinced it will be useful in practice, I always have a feeling my palms will touch the display by accident. There are ways to avoid that though (software), but we’ll see. I hope that ZTE will release this device this year and am looking for more information about it which will come our way soon, I’m sure of that.
