Polaroid, the company which is best known for making cameras, has announced a bunch of stuff at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. Other than announcing the Polaroid Socialmatic 14MP WiFi Camera, which is interesting looking, they also announced a range of smartphones, Polaroid Flip, Polaroid Selfie and Polaroid Snap smartphones. If you thought that the company is done announcing stuff at the Consumer Electronics Show, well, you’re wrong. This U.S.-based company has just announced two new tablets.
Polaroid L7 and L10 are company’s newest tablet offerings and are expected to go on sale in the U.S. this spring. That being said, let’s check out what they have to offer. Keep in mind that Polaroid didn’t release the full spec lists for these handsets, so we’re unable to provide that at this time. We’ll share what we do know, however, both of these tablets run a near stock version of Android 5.0 Lollipop and are powered by a quad-core processor. Polaroid did not share the name of the SoC manufacturer though, unfortunately. The L7 is a 7-inch unit, while the L10 is, you guessed it, a 10-inch tablet. Neither of these devices offers cellular connectivity though, but you of course get the Wi-Fi connectivity along with Bluetooth, of course. Both of them have rear and front-facing cameras and front-facing speakers. That’s it as far as the details go, Polaroid was a bit “shy” and didn’t share the amount of RAM, SoC manufacturer, camera details, display resolution, etc. We’ll get more details soon, I hope, but don’t expect the specs to blow you away, these are budget tablets after all. The design of these tablets is nothing special, it’s rather plain, industrial, but I actually like the understated look, though most people don’t.
The smaller, L7 tablet will cost $99, and the larger, L10 slate will set you back $149, should you decide to buy it of course. Both of these devices will be available in the spring, as I already mentioned. That being said, is anyone interested in either of these tablets? They might be solid budget offerings by Polaroid and could come in handy if you’re not a heavy user. I know it’s hard to comment on them not knowing all the details though, but give it a shot if you want.
