As with many CES events in the past, we are left with many great new devices to put on our wish and to-buy lists, and probably many more to come as it is only January after all. This year is no exception, with some interesting news coming to you today, and it involves LG and an upcoming device.
The device in question, which had its internal specifications leaked courtesy of MyLGPhones previously, now has a screen resolution and model number to offer up. The two details to add to your possibly-existent running list of maybe-G4 specs are a 2560 by 1440 pixel display panel and the model number of LG H810. What does that mean? It could mean that, in line with the model number for AT&T’s variant of the LG G Flex 2 (which is LG H950, by the way), this is a variant of the LG G4 coming to AT&T in the United States. Is that all? Technically yes, but we do know something for sure, and it’s that we don’t know for sure this is the G4 showing itself a little early. Let’s do a little research regarding the model number, shall we?
First, the LG G Flex 2 for AT&T is model number H950. The G3 for AT&T was the D850. The G2 for the blue carrier was the D800. And finally, the original G Flex for AT&T was model D950. The G Flex lines went from D to H prefixes, for possibly no reason, during the upgrade from last year’s to this year’s. The pairing of G Flex and G3 for AT&T is a difference of 100, with them being the D950 and D850 respectively. So, it would follow, if LG is keeping with trends, that the G Flex 2 and G4 would likely be the H950 and H850, not the H810. Still, MyLGPhones’ sources have told them the H810 will be AT&T’s LG 2015 flagship. For what it’s worth, there was a variant of the LG G2, whose model was D810, so it might be some variant on that line of the devices. Or, this could be a variation of the G Flex 2, given the H denotation. Perhaps a G Flex 2 Mini? That sounds too Samsung-esque, so we’ll probably see it come out as the G4 later this summer, with the rumored Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit chip, 3 gigabytes of RAM, an improved 16-megapixel, and Android 5.0 Lollipop with LG’s skin on top.
