In the latter half of last year, Sony unveiled their latest flagship device, the Sony Xperia Z3. Some had thought that this was too soon to release a flagship device and especially when its predecessor had only been unveiled six months earlier. Either way, the Xperia Z3 did land and in spite of the timing reservations, was warmly received. That said, this did immediately intensify rumors that maybe the next incarnation, the Sony Xperia Z4, would also be coming six months later (three in 12 months effectively). Although this morning, we heard the latest report that the Z4 will not be shown off at MWC, as expected.
That said, and back to the Z3. When the current flagship did land, it landed in four colors (black, white, green and copper). However, over the last few weeks there has been numerous reports about a new color hitting the market. A crazy purple color. Since this was first reported, it has attracted a good deal of attention and it seems quite a few people are looking forward to getting it,. Well, only a few days ago the purple edition of the Z3 was officially announced to the world with an estimated arrival date for the end of January 2015 for Hong Kong.
In spite of its introduction, there were no firm dates on when it will reach other markets. However, if you are based in the UK, it now does seem that you will be getting the purple Xperia Z3. Carphone Warehouse is already listing the device on their site and have already opened pre-orders. So if you do want a purple variant, then you can now get one. What’s more, is that Carphone Warehouse are listing the shipping date as January 29th, which is only a few days away. So you won’t have to wait that long before it turns up at your door. Besides, the color, there does not seem to be any other major differences in the specs of the purple device. So, are you UK based? Will you be picking up the purple Z3 come the 29th?
