Sony has launched not one, but two devices in their Xperia Z flagship line in 2014, not counting the mini version handsets. The Xperia Z2 was launched in February 2014, and Sony also outed the Xperia Z3 in September 2014. Both of those devices are great and many people claimed there’s no point in releasing two flagship devices a year, I tend to agree with them, but Sony apparently did not. It is unknown whether this Japanese company intends to keep this 2 flagships per year habit, or will they change it up and launch only one flagship this year. We won’t find that out anytime soon, but we do have some Xperia Z3 news in the meantime.
The purple version of the Xperia Z3 might be on its way according to ePrice. This portal claims that the device will launch in time for the Lunar New Year (February 19). They did not release any availability information though, so we don’t know where will this device be available once it launches. Purple version of the Xperia Z line have been a tradition of sorts ’till this day, Sony has released the purple versions of Xperia Z, Z Ultra, Z1 and Z2 already and they also have some low and mid-range handsets available in that color as well.
Xperia Z3 comes sporting a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD Triluminous display along with 3GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of in-built storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB). This device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics rendering. On the back of the device you’ll find a 20.7-megapixel camera and a LED flash while there’s a 2.2-megapixel shooter on the front of this device. Xperia Z3 comes with 3,100mAh battery which should be able to get you through the day without issues and Android 4.4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on the device with Sony’s UI on top of it. 146 x 72 x 7.3mm are the device’s measurements and Sony’s current flagship weighs 152 grams.
That being said, would you like to get your hands on the purple version of the Sony Xperia Z3, do you like that color? I do believe it looks nice, even though I’m not looking to purchase one myself.
