We’re getting close to the time where Samsung is going to announce their new flagship, the Galaxy S6. Which also means, lots of rumors and leaks are going to be surfacing over the next few weeks as we get closer to Mobile World Congress (which is March 2nd, through the 5th). The latest rumor is coming out of Business Insider, and it appears that Samsung is going to be announcing two different models. One will be a metal one similar to the Galaxy Alpha and the other Galaxy A models that have been announced lately. While the other will be curved. For the curved model, we’re looking at one close to the Galaxy Note Edge and not the Galaxy Round or the LG G Flex 2. So there likely won’t be much different between the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy S6 Edge (or whatever they finally name it).
Specs have also leaked out. We’re looking at a QHD Super AMOLED Display, Exynos 7420 for 3G markets with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 for LTE markets. It’s also going to feature 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 16MP camera with Android 5.0 Lollipop on board. So the specs aren’t really anything we didn’t expect here. Although we did kinda expect to see 4GB of RAM even though it’s not needed.
As we mentioned last week, Samsung is also poised to announce a round smartwatch at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It’s going to be comparable to the LG G Watch R and the Moto 360. Likely to be running on Tizen instead of Android Wear however. So while Samsung was pretty quiet on the Mobile side at CES this past week, it looks like they’ve got plenty to show us at Mobile World Congress in just a few weeks (closer to about 6). I’ll be there to see exactly what Samsung has to announce this time around. How many of you are excited to see what Samsung might announce in Barcelona? Let us know in the comments below.
