Three Sony Xperia Model Numbers Revealed on Indonesian Postel Regulatory site

While Sony said there will not be a new flagship announced at Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona (I’m not so sure I believe that), we do know three model numbers for smartphones they are planning to launch this year. When they will launch, that’s the question now, along with what phones are they. These three models popped up on the Indonesian Postel Regulatory site, which are E2353, E5333, and E6533.

The number there that stands out the most is the E6533, which sounds like it could be the Xperia Z4. As the Xperia Blog points out, the Xperia Z2 was the D65XX (there were a few models for different regions, but all started with D65). While the Xperia Z3 last year was the D66XX (Again multiple models for regions, so various D66XX models). The reason why there’s an E this year is to differentiate the year from last year. The other two models listed are likely successors for the Xperia T2 Ultra and the Xperia M2. Which most of us here in the US have probably never seen (and likely never heard of).

The Indonesian Postel Regulatory site doesn’t really give us any other info about these devices, just their model numbers. Not even what region they are destined to be sold in. Although I’m sure they’ll be sold in at least Indonesia. Seeing as this is basically the FCC for Indonesia.

So there’s three phones that Sony is likely to announce this year. While Sony said there’s no flagship being announced at MWC in March, I wouldn’t rule out one of these being announced there. Sony may just announce a mid-range or low-end smartphone in Barcelona. Either way, we’ll be there to see exactly what Sony has to show us.
