Top Android Homescreen January 23rd Edition: Sunset

It’s Friday, and that means we have a new homescreen for you to enjoy and, if you wish, set up so you can have this design on your own device. This week’s pick is like all our other picks in that we grab it from one of the talented creators who show off their stuff on mycolorscreen.com, and this week we have what we feel is a really awesome design. Definitely one of the best in a while. It’s called Sunset. You can see how the name makes sense with the use of colors, but it doesn’t just look nice of course as it provides some great functionality too. If you want to set this homescreen up for yourself, we’ll gloss over what you need to get this homescreen design going and give you the basics of how to apply it.

First off, you’ll need to grab a few different apps to get everything working. A third party home launcher should be your first stop. Nova Prime is the recommended third party launcher here, but it is very similar to Apex Pro so you should be able to use Apex as well. You’ll also want to go ahead and grab Media Utilities for the media controls within the music widget, and of course for the widgets themselves you’ll need to already have installed or grab Zooper Pro and popup widget.

Once you have all of those installed, the process for setup is pretty simple to get started. Simply set your number of homescreens to two, and make sure your homescreen grid(which can be found inside of the Nova or Apex settings menus)is set to 6 x 6. There will be two widgets per page, with a total of four widgets in all. You’ll also want to make sure and hide the navigation and status bars, as the widgets are full screen. Also make sure you get rid of the dock on the homescreen which sits right above that navigation bar at the bottom. You can grab the widget files from the download link provided by the creator, and you can find that link on the source page which we have linked below. If you like the homescreen design make sure to show your appreciation for the hard work getting this design up and running by hitting the love button and “zooming” the image at the source page. As always, have a great weekend and happy themeing!!
