Chromebooks were massive sellers in 2014 with many people turning away from more traditional laptop options in favour of the lightweight Chrome OS offerings. One of the most popular of the Chromebooks in the US last year, was the offering from Toshiba. The Toshiba Chromebook 2 made a big splash, thanks to its mix of reasonable price and decent specs and consistently was a good seller in the US. If you are UK based and have had your eye on this one then it looks like it might be on its way to you very soon. as the Toshiba Chromebook 2 now appears to be available in the UK on pre-order via Amazon.
Now straight off the bat, it needs to be said, that shipping is being listed as ‘one to two months’. That does seem a bit early for pre-orders to be up and running, so the time frame might change to become available sooner in due course. That said, if you want to pick up the Toshiba Chromebook 2 then both RAM options are available. The cheaper of the two is the Toshiba CB30-B-103 and comes with a 13.3 TN display with a 1366 — 768 resolution. Inside, this one includes 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, an Intel Celeron N2840 dual-core processor (clocking at 2.16GHz). This one is also the longer lasting battery of the two with an expected 11.5 hours on offer and is currently up on Amazon for £219.99. The second option is the Toshiba CB30-B-104 and comes with the same 13.3″ sized display. Although, this one does come with an upgraded IPS Full HD resolution with a 1920 — 1080 resolution. Inside, this one includes 4GB of RAM, 16GB Internal storage and the same 2,16GHz Intel Celeron N2840 dual-core processor. In contrast to the lesser display option, this one is expected to offer up to 9.5 hours battery life. If this is more your choice then you can pre-order via Amazon for £269.99.
