The Alleged OnePlus OxygenOS Images Surface

It only seems that we’ve recently announced details of the new OnePlus ROM, called OxygenOS. A few days after this announcement we showed you what might be the OxygenOS boot animation and now we’ve some leaked images of what the software might look like in the skin. These are leaked images, so may be quite removed from the real deal. It’s also possible that these images may be OnePlus carefully engineering a series of leaks to gauge customer reaction and tease the world with the new software, set to be unveiled on February 12. These images purport to show a colorful, flat, modern and contemporary design. The homescreen shows icons organized according to their category, so we have gaming tools, browsers and social media. We’ve also seen the OxygenOS Weather application too, although it doesn’t show off very much information at present.

If I were to imagine a new forked version of the Android operating system, OxygenOS is close to what I would visualize. The images don’t appear to show off anything revolutionary but I would not necessarily expect this. And perhaps the point of showing off these leaked photographs is to demonstrate that the OxygenOS interface looks sufficiently different to Cyanogenmod, the software that the OnePlus One has been using and seemingly the source of frustration within the business?

If these are the real deal – and this is a pretty big “if” – then I’m pleased to see the OnePlus team getting back on their feet. The business has been through an interesting year and some of their marketing decisions have raised more than a few eyebrows, but their actions have certainly kept the OnePlus brand across the Internet and has helped the business sell half a million of the OnePlus One model. The follow-up device has a sales reputation to uphold and hopefully, without upsetting quite so many people this year.

What do our readers think to the leaks? Do they seem legitimate to you? Are you going to be interested to see what OnePlus announce in a little over a week? Or are you not so bothered? Do let us know in the comments below.
