Android 5.0 Starts rolling out to the Galaxy S4 LTE-A in Finland, Sweden and Norway

Samsung started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Galaxy S4 LTE-A not too long ago. But now it appears to be rolling out to even more countries, specifically the Nordic countries. If you are in Finland, Sweden or Norway, there’s a good chance you’ve got a Lollipop update waiting for your Galaxy S4 LTE-A. For those wondering this is model number GT-I9506. The build number is still I9506XXUDOA6, and it is Android 5.0.1 as well. While Touchwiz may still look pretty much the same, it is Android 5.0 Lollipop, and at least on the Galaxy S5, it appears to be running much faster than it was on KitKat, which is always nice.

You can go into Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Check for Updates and see if the OTA is available for you now. If it’s not, you can update through Kies. Although I’d suggest waiting for the OTA, as Kies is something you don’t really want to mess with. As it’s more of a pain than anything, and installing the OTA will be much easier, although you do have to wait for the OTA to hit your device, which seems like it takes forever sometimes.

It’s great to see Samsung pushing out Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Galaxy S4 already, it’ll be interesting to see when the Galaxy Note lineup starts getting their update to Android 5.0. Faster updates is always a good thing though. Hopefully we’ll see more of this in the future from Samsung and other smartphone makers out there.

How many of you have been able to pull down the Lollipop update for your Galaxy S4 LTE-A smartphone? Have you been able to install it? What do you think of the update? Be sure to let us know in the comments down below.
