Archos 62 Xenon Is A New Entry-Level Phablet Which Features A 6.27" 720p Display

Archos isn’t exactly one of the best known electronics company in the world, but this France-based company is present in quite a number of markets, especially in Europe. They usually manufacture low and mid-range smartphones and tablets, though that’s not the rule, there are lots of difference devices in Archos’ lineup. Anyhow, the company has just announced yet another device, and this one is rather interesting, we don’t really get to see a lot of low-end phablets around, though this could be considered low-mid range device technically.

The device in question is the Archos 62 Xenon, which features a huge 6.27-inch 720p (1280 x 720, 234ppi) IPS display on the front. This device also ships with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which you can expand via microSD card up to 64GB. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with a Mali-400MP2 GPU for graphics. On the back of the device, you’ll find an 8-megapixel camera flanked by an LED flash, while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper located on the front. 2,400mAh battery ships with this device, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed here with some Archos additions, of course. This device offers 3G connectivity, no 4G LTE here. 174 x 88 x 8mm are its measurements, and it weighs 210 grams.

The price of this thing is currently unknown, though you can expect the company to sell this handset on the cheap, at least judging by its specs. You can also expect this phablet to launch in Europe first, and it will possibly be launched in other markets later on, though we have no information regarding any of that at the moment. This is a rather huge device, but it might appeal for those of you who really want to get a phablet, and don’t want to spend much on it, though in the end, this is a low-mid range device. Let us know what you think about all this in the comments, do you find this device interesting at all, or know someone who might want to use it?
