Sling TV is an interesting product, and while it’s perhaps not the final word in cord cutting, it’s good enough for a lot of users, especially if these users already use Netflix and such. It’s also perhaps one of the best ways to get premium sports on your TV, as a package with ESPN and co costs just $5 a month. We were able to use Sling TV for a few weeks before it was available to the public, and we were pretty impressed with what we found, especially when considering how much this costs. Today though, Sling TV has teamed up with Amazon for a pretty sweet deal.
If you haven’t got a compatible Roku streaming stick, there’s no need to worry as the service now comes to Amazon’s Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. New customers that pay for three months of Sling TV upfront will get a Fire TV stick for free or $50 off of a Fire TV box. This is a pretty decent deal if you’ve been looking at what Sling TV is all about, and need something to play it on. Sure, you have to pay for service upfront, but you do get free hardware, which is pretty rare these days. If you already have an Amazon TV product of some sort, downloading the Sling app from the Amazon Appstore will give you something nice as well.
Those interested in what Sling TV has to offer can take a look at our overview here. $20 a month isn’t too bad for a service that doesn’t require you to have an existing cable subscription, but we admit it could be better. Sling’s blog has more info for you at the source link below and those interested in this pretty decent deal can head here.
