If you prefer to workout from the comfort of your own home but want some of the benefits of a gym, like a personal trainer or a comprehensive list of workouts right in the palm of your hand, this app can help you get things done. It has 3D animated exercise videos to show you exactly how exercises are meant to be done, you can set workout reminders, and you can earn rewards for completing exercise goals.
7 Minute Workout
If you don’t have a lot of time for your workout but you still want to get in some exercise whenever you do have a few spare moments, 7 Minute Workout should be your best friend. The app provides you with 12 different workout exercises to progress through during the 7 minutes, contains helpful and informative video tutorials, it has voice guided assistance to talk you through things and keep you motivated, and it supports Google Fit so everything you do is fed right into Google Fit with the rest of or any other fitness related data from other apps.
Strava Running and Cycling GPS
Strava is all about helping you track your running sessions and your rides using your phones built-in GPS. After you track your runs and/or rides, you can see your routes on the map highlighted with an orange line so you can post and share your experiences, or you can go back and do those same routes. Strava is social too so you can climb leaderboards and share with your friends and follow their exploits too. There’s no Google Fit support, but it is compatible with Android Wear and you can use your voice to start and stop the activities.
My Tracks
My Tracks is another app to help you track your runs, hikes, and rides. It tracks your route using GPS and shows you all the data on a Google Maps built layout. It also tracks you distance, elevation, and your speed. It allows you to view the data live during the recording process or it can be saved and viewed at a later point after the fact. This one comes straight from Google and again, has no Google Fit support just like Strava, which is kind of surprising, but it is compatible with Android Wear.

Keeping hydrated should be a simple task, and quite honestly drinking water is an essential thing to living. Plenty of us may not drink enough water though and sometimes it may come down to a simple reasoning of forgetfulness to pour ourselves a nice refreshing cool glass of H2O. Water Your Body helps you remember this one simple thing so you can ensure you stay hydrated throughout the day. The app can help you set reminders to alert you when you should pour another glass of water, and if you like to see things on visual map Water Your Body can provide you with graphs and logs with the date record of when you drank each glass.
Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro
Endomondo Sports Trakcer Pro is versatile fitness app, giving you the ability to track your fitness in various ways, like tracking your routes via GPS for cycling, running, hiking, and other outdoor activities. The app also integrates with your music so you can motivate yourself during exercise and fuel your fitness, and it tracks your calories burned during each activity. It tracks outdoor activities automatically but it also support indoor workouts and activities, you simply have to enter the data in manually for it to calculate all the data and feed it back to you. It has a training diary to help you keep track of workouts and analyze the data to improve for next time, and you can share your workouts with others as well as join monthly challenges that can potentially earn you rewards.
Nike + Running
This app is all about helping you track your runs and keeping you motivated so you can go that extra mile. Nike + Running can tack your runs whether your indoors on the treadmill or outdoors on the track. You can also compete with other users or friends, see how you stack up on the leaderboard and compare yourself with others.
Calorie Counter
It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out what the purpose of this app is, as it’s designed to track your calorie intake so you can stay on top of it and watch the nutrition side of your fitness goals. The app is tailored and customized to each user after you setup your configurations, and it connects with other devices like the JawboneUp, Fitbit trackers and other fitness related wearables.
Google Fit
Google Fit is your comprehensive fitness data hub. You can use it to track your fitness information like calories burned, steps taken, and other fitness related activities and you can set daily goals and use the app as an interface to see if and when you meet them. It’s compatible with Android Wear devices and it’s compatible with a decent number(and growing)of other fitness apps so you can view all of your fitness data in one place.
