There are a number of high profile leakers who use Twitter as a main source of information and we’ve news today that @LlabTooFeR has tweeted what is purported to be a wallpaper from the as yet unannounced HTC One M9 Hima. The image that was leaked today – see the source for the original – is somewhat squared and a lower resolution that we’d be expecting from a wallpaper, but this could easily be explained by it needing to cover multiple home screens and being downsampled either for the purposes of tweeting it, or perhaps because @LabTooFeR doesn’t have access to the original image. Still, it’s probably not good enough to be used as a wallpaper just yet but it certainly gives a flavor of the likely scenes. It reminds me somewhat of the wallpaper first seen with HTC’s Sense 4, which was launched with the One V, One S and One X devices in 2012.
The latest rumored specification of the new HTC One are pointing towards a 1080p resolution display, although we won’t know for certain until the 1 March. The new HTC is also reckoned to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired up with 3 GB of memory, so if the resolution rumors are correct then the device will likely offer exceptional performance. The rumors are also pointing towards a 20-megapixel rear camera, replacing HTC’s UltraPixel units that has seen service in the HTC One M7 and HTC One M8. It’s very likely to run Android 5.0 Lollipop and HTC Sense 7, too.
I’m curious to see what other images @LlabTooFeR has planned to be released. One per day means quite a few wallpapers! Perhaps the One M9 will have a different set of wallpapers depending on the market, or perhaps it’ll have different color schemes as the M8 and Sense 6 does? We’ll know in a fortnight. Meanwhile, what do you think to the wallpaper design? Do you think it’s legitimate? Let us know in the comments below.
