A couple of hours ago, it was reported that LG’s new smartwatch, the LG Watch Urbane had suddenly appeared for pre-order online. At the time, the listing was from UK retailer MobileFun and came in within a massive £290 price tag. This significantly prices the device higher than the LG predecessor, the LG G Watch R. Well, now Expansys in the UK (as well as the rest of Europe) are also showing the LG Watch Urbane as available for pre-order and their pricing lists the Watch Urbane at £299.99. This is almost identical to that listed already by MobileFun and goes some way to reinforcing that the price is going to be somewhere in this region.
In terms of what that means, in the U.S., well, the direct currency conversion from Expansys means Urbane is priced just under $465. However, it is unlikely to cost this much when the device does launch. With this morning’s MobileFun report, it was noted that the U.S. MobileFun site was listing the Urbane at a lower price than what the UK translated cost equated to. Unfortunately, the U.S. Expansys site is not currently listing the Urbane as of yet, so comparisons between Expansys and MobileFun pre-order listings cannot be currently made,
That said, without any further U.S. price information coming for Expansys, what does seem to be becoming clearer is that the LG Watch Urbane is going to be one of the most (if not the most) expensive Android Wear device on the market. With the device being touted as a luxury item, this is less surprising, however, whether consumers find what seems to be an escalating pricing with smartwatches reasonable, is what will be of importance. If you are thinking of picking the Urbane up, then you may want to know what you get for your money. Well, the Urbane will come with a 1.3-inch P-OLED display with a 320 x 320 resolution. Inside, Urbane will offer 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. Urbane will be both dust and water resistant, powered by a 410 mAh battery and running on Android Wear. What do you think of the price? Would you but it.
