Second-gen Motorola Moto E has launched in two variants thus far, the 3G and 4G variants. Motorola recently sent out a bunch of mystery boxes out to news outlets, which was a unique way to announce the Moto E 4G LTE. If you’re interested, take a look at our recent hands-on coverage of this device. These two variants have a similar set of specs, though not exactly the same. There are two differences, one is quite obvious, the network bands these devices support, and the other one is in the SoC that is powering these handsets. More info on that later.
That being said, we just got some information regarding the availability of the 2nd-gen Moto E in India. The 3G variant of the device will be available in that Asian country, and will be available exclusively via Flipkart for Rs. 6,999 ($113). It is still unknown when will the device be available in India though, but we’re guessing that it will be listed soon. Either way, let us know if you intend to purchase this device, no matter where you live. This price tag is more than affordable and it will be interesting to see if it will sell well.
Regarding the Moto E (2nd-gen) specifications, Motorola Moto E features a a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 IPS LCD display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 32GB). The 3G model is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, which ships with an Adreno 302 GPU. The 4G variant, on the other hand, ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core SoC which runs at 1.2GHz and comes with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics. 5-megapixel camera is located on the back of both variants, same goes for the VGA shooter which is available up front. The Moto E (2nd-gen) measures 129.9 x 66.8 x 12.3mm and weighs 145 grams.
