Nokia was the world’s number one cellphone manufacturer once, their devices were well-known all around the world, it was a really respectable company all around. Somewhere along the way the company lost their way, they failed with both their Symbian and MeeGo operating systems and then they signed an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft to make only Windows Phone devices. We all know how that turned out, Nokia sold their Devices and Services business to Microsoft, and was left high and dry. That didn’t stop the company to raise from the ashes and start manufacturing smart devices again, even though they’re technically not allowed to do so as per their agreement with Microsoft, but Nokia found a way around that (Foxconn manufactures devices for them).
The company has manufactured an extremely solid and affordable tablet since then, the Nokia N1. This device is currently available only in China, but is expected to hit Europe soon. Nokia has already held several flash sales in China and managed to sell out everything they got every single time. This Finnish company also decided to market their N1 tablet in China in order to persuade more people to buy their product. Billboards all over China show a Chinese model holding Nokia’s Android-powered tablet, and you can check out those images in a gallery down below. Chinese OEMs often use such type of advertisement, they hire a model which then showcases their products. We often see this at tech shows all over the world though, so it’s nothing new, but it’s nice knowing Nokia is making an effort to advertise their product, it seems like they’re really planning to stick around.
The Nokia N1 features a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 IPS LCD display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. The tablet is powered by Intel’s Atom Z3580 quad-core chip clocked at 2.3GHz which ships with a PowerVR G6430 GPU for graphics. 5,300mAh battery is here to make sure you don’t run out of juice ahead of time, and this device ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop with Nokia’s Z Launcher on top of it. 8-megapixel camera is located on the back of the device, while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter available up front.
