Samsung May Have A Galaxy Round Successor In The Works With Rumored SM-G930

A new leak has surfaced about a possible upcoming high-end Samsung device listed with the model number SM-G930. The information comes from Twitter user Upleaks who has been known to leak tips and information about upcoming devices from various manufacturers. Other than the model number itself and that this would be a new high-end Samsung device, Upleaks gave no other details. Rumors are already suggesting though that this new device could be a new model of the Samsung Galaxy Round, due to the fact that the SM-G930 is 10 numbers ahead of the upcoming Galaxy S6 which is model number SM-G920.

As pointed out by Phone Arena, the original Samsung Galaxy Round was SM-G910, and the Galaxy S5 was SM-G900, so it’s possible and reasonable to assume that the SM-G930 device could perhaps be a Samsung Galaxy Round 2 device. Samsung has all but confirmed what devices they plan to unveil at the upcoming Unpacked 2015 event, but we will likely end up seeing the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which are model number SM-G920 and SM-G925. It’s uncertain whether or not Samsung has plans to show off the SM-G930 model at Mobile World Congress or not, but based off of when the original Galaxy Round was announced which was back in October of 2013, Samsung may not announce this new device till sometime in the Fall.

With nothing else to go off of other than the model number, this leaves many unanswered questions about the possible new smartphone, like pricing details, specs and hardware, launch regions, and release dates. As stated above the original Galaxy Round was announced in October of 2013, so we may end up hearing an announcement about the SM-G930 around the same time. It would make sense for Samsung to be releasing a Galaxy Round successor though as they may want to continue competing against LG, who has already announced and released in some regions their LG G Flex 2. What are your thoughts on a new Samsung Galaxy Round device? Could the SM-G930 be Samsung’s follow up to the their first 6-inch device with a curved display? Would you be interested in a new Samsung Galaxy Round device if they released it in your area?
