Top Android Homescreen Feb. 27th: Location

It’s Friday, and that means it’s time for some more customization on your device with a new homescreen theme. This one like most of our picks comes from mycolorscreen, and this week we have picked something that was created by none other than David Pitoko, who is well known for creating some pretty fantastic homescreen themes. This one is called Location, and like every other pick we do each week we’ll give you the breakdown of what you need to set this theme up on your own device, as well as give you the basics of how to apply it. You’ll need a few things to get started, so let’s go over that.

The fist thing you’re going to need is a third party home launcher/replacement launcher. For this homescreen David Pitoko recommends Nova Prime. Next, you’ll want to download the Zooper Widgets Pro app, this is how you’ll apply the widget files to make your homescreen look the way it does in these images. Lastly, what you’ll need is the Media Utilities app which allows you to set the music widget configuration to control your music as well as pop up the album artwork on the widget.

Once you have everything installed, including the widget files which you can download here at this link from the Play Store, the next step is to get everything set up. First go into Nova settings and set your homescreen grid to 8 x 8. Next, what you’ll want to do is hide the status bar, the navigation bar, and the remove the dock from the bottom of the screen. You also want to make sure you have two homescreen pages set up, there will be four widgets in total, with two going to each page. For Media Utilities configurations, open up Media Utilities, go into settings, select Zooper Widget, cover art, sound progress and then hit done and that’s pretty much it. If you’re having issues, David Pitoko is openly accepting emails to assist in getting things the way they should be. You can find his email on the Play Store page. If you like this homescreen, also be sure to visit the source link below which is the mycolorscreen page for this design, hit the love button, and “zoom” the images to show some appreciation for the hard work. Have a great weekend and happy theming!!
