The Aurora Ebest Diamont Lives Up to Its Name

Earlier this week, Chinese smartphone buyers – as well as those looking to import, presumably – got the option to get a more feminine smartphone. The Aurora Ebest Diamont is certainly a device designed for the lady that wants a device to match her style, and it’s nice to see more options out there for women. Under the hood, this is powered by a MediaTek MT6752 and features 2GB of RAM as well as a 5.2-inch 720p display. What makes this device so elegant are the 127 stones around the side of the device, as well as lots of rose gold used in the construction. A good-looking device, it is nice to see something more feminine like this.

LG Drops Price of L Bello and L Fino in India

Some time ago, LG introduced the LG L Bello and the LG L Fino, a pair of mid-range devices designed to offer similar experiences as the G3 line without the associated price tag. These were fairly decent devices on the face of things, but their specs left more than a little to be desired. LG is now reducing their price tags in India, making them a little bit more attractive, at least on the face of things. We covered their original launch and for more info on their specs you can check that out here. The L Bello launched in India at RS 18,500 and has now been dropped to RS 13,250. Meanwhile, the smaller L Fino is now RS 10,700 down from RS 14,500. Not a bad deal we suppose, but Motorola still has some of the best value-for-money available in India.

Gionee is a Chinese manufacturer that many of you are familiar with, and while they produce some of the best-looking devices available in the Far East, they aren’t exactly known for their speedy updates. Those still waiting on KitKat however, will be happy to hear that an update is planned to start hitting Elife E7 devices starting this March. Hopefully, this means that a Lollipop update will hit the Elife E7 later this year.

Micromax Invests in Silicon Vallery Analytics Firm

Micromax is a pretty big deal in India, being one of the few Indian manufacturers that offer a wide range of devices at different price points. Recently, they’ve launched Android One devices and numerous other designs that offer some excellent value to consumers. Now, the Economic Times is reporting that Micromax has invested in a Silicon Vallery Analytics firm. The stake is a small one, and the company deals in price comparisons, which Micromax will presumably use to keep their prices competitive in the coming year. Speaking about the deal, Rahul Sharma, head of Micromax had his to say:

“We will build some technology and buy some for moving beyond devices into services that offer granular analytical capability of consumer data usage and consumer behavior. The services will be used for Micromax and Yu brand of smartphones and the first signs of integration will be visible within three to five months.”
