Xiaomi: We've Reached Another Milestone, Over 100 Million People Use MIUI

Xiaomi is a very interesting company which is currently under the spotlight, as far as mobile tech companies go. This China-based smartphone manufacturer was founded back in 2010 and has managed to achieve so much in just four and a half years. They’re currently the number 1 smartphone manufacturer in China, third-placed worldwide, are valued at $46 billion, and quite frankly, the business is booming. This company is not only manufacturing smartphones though, not even by a long shot. They’re manufacturing all sort of tech devices, like tablets, smart TVs, air purifiers, smart light bulbs, power banks, etc. That’s not all though, Xiaomi also develops their own Android-based operating system called MIUI.

Speaking of which, MIUI is currently in version 6, and the company has announced something MIUI-related on their official Weibo (Chinese social network) account. The company has announced yet another milestone, they now count over 100 million MIUI users in the world. They had 30 million users in December 2013, 50 million in May 2014 and now they have announced that they count over 100 million people, which shows their staggering growth-rate which we’ve talked about so many times. Who knows what will happen next for this company, but if they manage to keep this up, they’ll catch up to mobile behemoths in no time.

As a side note, Xiaomi plans all kinds of expansions this year, and the company has held a PR event in San Francisco recently. That was more of a meet-and-greet event, even though they did announce something. The company will set up shop in the U.S. soon, but won’t be selling their smartphones over there, but their other smart devices like smart light bulbs, fitness bands… basically smart accessories. They did announce that smartphones will become available eventually, but didn’t say when, it won’t be soon though. Anyhow, we were present at that event, and if you’d like to read more about it, I suggest you visit this article. That being said, do you find Xiaomi interesting and are you interested in some of their products? If yes, please do share which ones, they have plenty of devices out on the market at the moment.
