Acer Announce Their Latest Liquid Smartphone At MWC, The Acer Liquid Jade Z

At MWC today, Acer announced the launch of a brand new smartphone and the newest addition to their Liquid line, in the form of the Acer Liquid Jade Z. According to Acer, the Jade Z is designed to be a fast and capable device due to the combination of its 64-bit processing chip and LTE support. The display will be a HD display and viewable from almost any angle. While also coming equipped with Zero Air Gap technology to reduce reflection and glare.

In terms of the main specs, the Jade Z comes with a 5″ HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass. Inside, the Jade Z will come loaded with 1GB RAM and powered by a MediaTek 64-bit quad-core processor (clocking at 1.5GHz). In terms of memory, the Jade Z will offer 8GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Camera-wise, the Jade Z will be equipped with a 13 megapixel voice activated rear shooter, offering increased brightness and loaded with a F1.8 aperture lens. On the front side, the device will come with a 5 megapixel front facing option with an F2.2 aperture lens. Additional features will include 4G support (LTE Cat.4), dual-SIM support (nano-SIM) and come powered y a 2,300mAh battery. The Jade Z will initially come running on Android 4.4 (KitKat), although Acer do note the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update is due to arrive in the second quarter of this year.

Jade Z will also come with a number of Acer branded software onboard including Acer Bright Magic to assist image taking in low light condition. Not to mention, the inclusion of Acer Extent which allows users to fully control the device remotely from a Windows PC. Acer Nav will also be compatible which offers users the offline navigation from the underlying TomTom technology. Speakers will come equipped with DTS Studio sound and offer 24-bit Hi-res quality audio. Lastly, this will be one of Acer’s lightest and thinnest devices coming, in at 110 grams and measuring 143 x 69 x 7.9mm. The Acer Liquid Jade Z will be available in March in select EMEA regions and will cost €199.
