Alongside their announcement of the PIXI 3 5.5 smartphone, Alcatel OneTouch is also announcing one new tablet today, the PIXI 3 7-inch tablet which is the newest addition to the PIXI 3 line and joins the already available PIXI 3 8-inch tablet. Now that the tablets come in two different sizes, there is one to fit the needs of people who are either looking for a more compact tablet and one to fit the needs of someone who is looking for a tablet size that is right in the middle between compact and large. The new PIXI 3 7 tablet also comes in multiple different colors, although not quite as many as you’ll find the PIXI 3 5.5 smartphone. The tablets are also not technically different colors themselves but are customizable with different colors through Alcatel’s offering of 7 customizable colored back covers which can be snapped onto the back of the PIXI 3 7 tablet.
The new PIXI 3 7 is also available with three different connection types, so consumers can pick one that fits their connection needs best as it comes in a WiFi only, 3G, and 4G LTE compatible models. The PIXI 3 8-inch tablet will be available in a 3G compatible model only. Both the 3G and WiFi only models of the PIXI 7 are running on Android 4.4 Kit Kat while the 4G LTE model will come running the latest version of the OS, Android 5.0 Lollipop. The PIXI 3 7 also carries some useful features, like the WiFi display feature allowing users to wirelessly cast their tablet display onto a compatible TV or monitor, and support for multiple accounts so the device can be shared by family members or friends while keeping things specific to each user secure.
When it comes to the actual specs, the PIXI 3 7 tablet comes equipped with a 7-inch TFT display with a 1024 x 600 resolution. This is the same display across all three models of the tablet. All three models also sport the same battery at 2,820mAh capacity, and both the WiFi only and 4G LTE models will sport a quad-core processor although each chipset is different, and the 3G model will be using a dual-core processor.
