The Alleged Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge Retail Packaging Surfaces

Samsung has announced the company’s new flagship devices on March 1st as part of MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona. This Korea-based smartphone OEM has announced their long-awaited and much-rumored Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets. These devices are a significant step up from the recent Galaxy S5, this time around Samsung opted for a far more premium build materials. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are more or less as far as specs go, but the Galaxy S6 Edge comes with curved display on both sides and a couple of additional software features dedicated to those two edges.

Anyhow, the MWC is still ongoing in Barcelona, and we have an interesting leak to share with you in regard to Samsung’s newest handsets. The alleged Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge retail boxed surfaced on Twitter, as you can see in the provided image. The two pictured boxes look far different than Samsung’s packaging thus far, previous Samsung boxes were made out of recycled cardboard, and these ones look far different, though that doesn’t mean they’re not made out of recycled material as well. We can’t confirm that these boxes are legit, of course, we’ll just have to wait until Samsung starts shipping the first Galaxy S6 units.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both feature a 5.1-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED displays, 3GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. Samsung’s very own 14nm Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor is powering these devices, and a Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed on both devices with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of Google’s OS, of course. 16-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of these devices, and a 5-megapixel snapper is available up front (wide-angle lens). Both devices are made out of metal with glass panels on both their front and back sides. The Galaxy S6 measures 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8mm and weighs 138 grams, while the Galaxy S6 Edge measures 142.1 x 70.1 x 7mm and weighs 132 grams.

There you have it, are these the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge retail boxes? What do you think?
