The AKG Y50 might not feature noise cancellation, or Bluetooth however, they’re extremely good value if you’re going for outright sound quality. They fold neatly, are available in a number of different colors and they feature a carrying case as well. The Y50 is a pair for those looking for something hassle free, with good sound quality and a fairly reasonable price tag. There’s a reason these have been winning awards all over the place, and they’re a casual pair that are easy to use and easy to take with you wherever you go.
JayBird BlueBuds X
This in-ear option won’t please everyone, especially if you’re not fond of Bluetooth. However, if you want to reduce cables tangling you up while you’re on the move, then these are a great buy. They have a mic built-in, giving you the ability to take calls while on the move, and those hooks keep them in place. If you’re in close proximity with others as well, these won’t leak any noise, and they’ll definitely keep much of the outside world out.

Bose QuietComfort 25
If you’re looking for more of a comfortable pair that will take away all the noise outside, then look no further than the QuietComfort 25. Sure, these aren’t cheap, but Bose have some of the best noise cancellation technology in the business and they’re damn good at sound reproduction, too. A high quality pair that will suit any frequent flyer, these are comfortable, they sound great and they have a very attractive case to go with them as well. The only problem is their price tag, but again if you’re going to be flying a lot, then these will make your airtime much more enjoyable.
Sennheiser MM450-X
Again, Bluetooth might not be available on every flight you take, but Sennheiser’s MM450-X are great for when you’re on the ground or traveling by train or coach. They look good, they’re fairly comfy and the TalkThrough technology makes it easier to hear people in front of you as they try and tell you something. Lightweight with easy-to-find controls on the earcups, these are fairly hassle free, and they’re a decent pair if you’re looking for more sound quality than convenience.
