Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Gets Lollipop in France
Owners of Samsung’s larger Super AMOLED tablet will be happy to hear that the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has been updated to Android 5.0.2 in France. This only applies to the WiFi model of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, the SM-T800, and while it’s rolling out across parts of Europe, the folks over at SamMobile have the firmware to download if you know what you’re doing.
Lollipop Update Certified for the Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact
The Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 family of devices have started to see a rollout of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in certain regions, and it looks like other Sony devices aren’t too far behind. A new software build of 14.5.A.0.242 has been certified for the Xperia Z Ultra, the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z1 Compact. Judging by the jump in version numbers this could very well be Lollipop for these devices, so the update can’t be too far behind.
Samsung Confirms the Galaxy Note 3 Neo Will be Getting Lollipop Update
Samsung might not have been as fast as others releasing Lollipop to their older devices, but they’ve done a decent job updating so many devices. The Galaxy Note 3 Neo was a strange device for Samsung to release, and was basically a smaller, and less expensive version of the original. Samsung France confirmed this week by way of a tweet that the device will be getting the update later this year, hopefully they mean before the end of the first half of the year.
Moto X (2014) Update to Android 5.1 Lollipop is Already in Testing
The Moto X (2014) was one of the first devices out there to get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it looks like it’ll be first in line for the Android 5.1 Lollipop build as well. The Pure Edition, that’s the XT1095, is currently testing the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, and it adds a new gesture along with the latest version of Android. Those interested can take a look at the changelog from Moto here.
AT&T Bring Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Galaxy Note 4
There’s been some confusion surrounding this update, but it looks like now it’s here to stay. Earlier this week, AT&T started to roll out Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to the Galaxy Note 4. Now, the full changelog is available from AT&T’s website, and just like previous updates to Lollipop on Samsung devices, this won’t make much difference to anything other than under the hood. However, things will look a little brighter and the font will have changed as well.
Karbonn Sparkle V Gets Android 5.1 Update
As an Android One device, the Karbonn Sparkle V is to get updates long before other devices, and while Google might not have been that quick with Android 5.0 Lollipop, the device is already getting Android 5.1 Lollipop. The update should be hitting devices right now and comes in around 400MB or so. This is a nice update and it’s good to see things moving quicker for the Android One handsets.
