Apple's 'Edition' Version Of The Apple Watch Is 18-Karat Gold And Costs As Much As $17,000

Apple held their Spring Forward event this morning where they unveiled a new MacBook air as well as a new line of Macbook Pro laptops, they also finally unveiled the prices for the upcoming Apple Watch for all three versions the smartwatch will be available in. If you thought Huawei’s luxury edition of the Huawei Watch at $1,000 was a little outrageous, you may not like the price of the Apple Watch Edition, which is Apple’s version of a luxury smartwatch. The Apple Watch Edition is not only 18-Karat gold, but it will also cost consumers $10,000 to acquire one.

Apple states that they will be selling the Apple Watch Edition in limited quantities, so getting a hold of one will not only be expensive but may prove to be a little more difficult than one might think as there won’t be as many made as the other versions. On top of this, those limited quantities will only be sold at select Apple Retail locations, which means you won’t be able to go to just any one of Apple’s official stores and grab it. $10,000 may sound like a lot, but it’s also only the starting price for the Edition. That price tag will net consumers the 18-Karat gold Apple Watch Edition in a 38mm size with the sport band only in black and white, and in either rose gold or yellow gold cases.

Consumers can bump up to the 42mm size though with those same bands and case colors for $12,000, but the prices don’t stop there as Apple also offers options for the rose gold and yellow gold cases that come with a leather band and classic buckle for $15,000, and finally a $17,000 model that comes with Apple’s modern buckle. If those prices don’t deter you and you would like to own one of those limited timepieces, Apple will begin pre-orders for all three versions of the Apple Watch which includes the Apple Watch Sport, the Apple Watch, and the Apple Watch Edition on April 10th. That’s too far out from now, so interested parties better start saving their money now.
