As you all know by now, Nokia has sold their Devices and Services business to Microsoft a while ago. Many people thought that’s the end of Nokia, but they were wrong. This Finland-based company has released a rather solid Android-powered tablet since then, and there were also some rumors about a Nokia-branded Android-powered handset. A mysterious Nokia 1100 smartphone even surfaced on Geekbench earlier this month running Android Lollipop. According to the listing, MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core processor will power on this device, and that will be a low or mid-range device. We’re still waiting for Nokia to give us some official info regarding all this.
While we’re waiting for the company to speak up, we might as well take a look at a newly-surfaced Nokia 1100 concept video and images that come with it. Keep in mind that this is not what the handset will look like when / if it launches, this is just a concept put together by one Jermaine Smit. This design is rather interesting, you get to see a device in various colors. We don’t have much information about the Nokia 1100 at this point, other than the fact that it’s running Android Lollipop and that the MediaTek chip is under the hood, as mentioned above. We can always guess what will its specs look like though. Considering this will be a low or a mid-range device, we might expect 1GB of RAM and perhaps a qHD or a 720p display here. 5 or 8-megapixel camera might be included on the back, and Nokia’s Z Launcher will most certainly be installed on top of Google’s operating system, similar to what we’ve seen in Nokia’s Android-powered N1 tablet. Keep in mind that this is just a guess as far as specifications go, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear some additional details regarding this device.
