Gameloft Games Come To Opera Mobile Store In New Partnership With Opera Software

Gameloft games are available on a wide range of platforms, and today they’re announcing a new partnership that will bring their hottest game titles to a new outlet. Gameloft is partnering with Opera Software, creator of the Opera suite of browsers for desktop and mobile, which will see Gameloft games made available in the Opera Mobile store. This will help to expand Gameloft’s reach and introduce their games to a large set of users who may have never had access to Gameloft games before. According to Gameloft and Opera, a big portion of those users will be people in emerging markets, but they state that the partnership will benefit a global total of 250 million users.

The Opera Mobile Store operates on all kinds of devices from smartphones to feature phones totaling 7,500 different devices in all, and already has about 300,000 apps and games available for download with millions of downloads coming through each and every day according to Opera Software. Adding Gameloft’s library of game titles isn’t going to expand the offerings of apps by the thousands for the Opera Mobile Store but as popular as Gameloft games are, it should certainly do something for the download numbers. Gameloft and Opera users won’t be the only ones to benefit from this partnership. Merging together their efforts provides both companies with new streams of revenue that weren’t previously available. VP of Business Development at Gameloft Ludovic Blondel states that “We’re thrilled to partner with Opera Software. By combining forces we can offer the best gaming experience to even more players around the world.”

The partnership sees Gameloft games present in the Opera Mobile store as of today, bringing in fairly recent titles like Asphalt 8, Despicable Me: Minion Rush, Dungeon Hunter 3 and Dungeon Hunter 4, Asphalt Overdrive, plus a handful of other game titles that have come out from Gameloft within the last year or two. It wasn’t mentioned whether or not the partnership between Gameloft and Oper Software would bring current titles like Dungeon Hunter 5 or Modern Combat 5 to the Opera Mobile store anytime soon as they didn’t appear to be there just yet.
