At this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Huawei’s showcased several devices slated for release later this year. One of the most notable devices spotted and slated for release (in more countries) was the Honor 6 Plus, which is already available in China. With earlier announcements of a March release, we now bring to you today confirmation of a March 24th release date in India. When the company initially announced the handset back in December of last year, the dual 8 megapixel cameras combined with dual LED flash technology was quite intriguing. Now we have the imminent release upon us in India with pricing to be confirmed soon.
The Honor 6 Plus will be powered by an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 925 processor with four 1.8 GHz Cortex A15 and four 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 cores. Combine this processing power with the Mali T628-MP4 graphics processing unit and you have quite a powerhouse at your disposal. Further complimenting this raw processing power is 3 GB of RAM which is sure to guarantee excellent multitasking capability. Built in storage will provide users with 16 GB or 32 GB to choose from while the more data hungry users can expand up to 128 GB with a microSD card. The display for the Honor 6 Plus will be a tactful 5.5 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution featuring in-cell LTPS and 10-finger multi-touch technology. For photography the Honor 6 Plus bears two 8-megapixel cameras with dual flash capable of an F2.0 aperture. On the front of the device another 8-megapixel sensor rests near the top this time capable of an F2.4 aperture. For multimedia connectivity built in is also an infrared LED sensor for remote control. For battery life the company crammed in a whopping 3600 mAh battery which is sure to bring stellar longevity to the table. Utilizing all of this capable hardware is Android 4.4 KitKat with the Emotion UI 3.0 skin based on top. Lastly the Honor 6 Plus will be dual SIM with 4G LTE functionality built in.
While pricing for the Honor 6 Plus is still unconfirmed, it is due for release next Tuesday on March 24th in India. The specifications for the device on paper are quite beastly, and the price upon release will help determine how good of a buy the Honor 6 Plus will be. Design choices such as a 1920 x 1080 resolution display and a 3600 mAh battery coupled with an octa-core processor definitely prepare this phone to compete with the other flagships of 2015. Hopefully the device will receive an update to lollipop in the near future. Only time will tell, but the Honor 6 Plus is looking good already.
